Experiences Culture and Gastronomy
At Reverence Hotels, we know that Mallorca is much more than paradisiacal beaches and delicious cuisine. This island offers a wide variety of activities for all tastes and ages. From exciting hiking routes through the Sierra de la Tramuntana to relaxing catamaran or boat excursions, here are some of the experiences we love the most and that, in our opinion, you shouldn't miss.
Exploring the Serra de la Tramuntana
The Serra de Tramuntana (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is the perfect place for hiking and nature lovers. Its mountainous landscapes, centuries-old olive groves, and wonderful villages are truly incredible. But in this case, we suggest some car routes, because in summer, the temperatures—unless you go very early in the day—are high and it's best to avoid risks. These are some villages you should visit, all about 30 minutes by car from Reverence Life in Santa Ponsa and Reverence Mare in Palmanova, both are adults-only hotels in Mallorca:
Valldemossa-Deià:Valldemossa is one of the most beautiful villages on the island, strolling through its streets is a pleasure. You can visit the Cartuja de Chopin and we recommend buying one of its traditional potato cakes in one of its bakeries/pastry shops. Deià, on the other hand, is a charming little village with a very special atmosphere, and a visit to its church and cemetery, where the famous writer Richard Graves is buried, is a must.
Sóller-Fornalutx: In Sóller, the main attraction is its cathedral, a jewel that many find unexpectedly. Also called the Church of San Bartolomé, it has an architectural style that mixes baroque and modernist elements. It was originally built in the 13th century and has been renovated and expanded several times over the centuries. The current modernist façade was designed by architect Joan Rubió y Bellver, a disciple of Antoni Gaudí, in the 20th century. And just a few minutes from Sóller is Fornalutx, which has also been chosen several times as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Strolling through its narrow streets and enjoying a drink on one of its terraces is like stopping time. Not surprisingly, several renowned artists have chosen this town to live and work.
Catamaran or Boat Excursions
One of the best ways to explore the Mallorcan coast. Catamaran or boat excursions will allow you to discover hidden coves, swim in crystal clear waters, and fully enjoy the Mediterranean Sea. Some recommended options for our guests are:
Excursion to the Island of Cabrera: Enjoy sailing to this national park and relax with a day of snorkeling, exploring, and tranquility. You have to go from our hotel to Colonia de Sant Jordi, and from there take a boat that reaches Cabrera in about 20 minutes. The island is uninhabited, and swimming in its Blue Cave is quite an experience.
Sunset on a catamaran: Both in the waters of Santa Ponsa and Palmanova, you can relax with a cocktail while enjoying a stunning sunset over the Mediterranean, a truly unforgettable experience. We also really like the option of visiting the Malgrats Islands by kayak or canoe; they are in Santa Ponsa and have been declared a Natural Area of Special Interest (ANEI) due to their ecological richness and biodiversity. This designation has helped protect their natural environment and preserve the species that inhabit the area.
One of Mallorca's greatest qualities as a tourist destination is that the island contains all the plans one can imagine. At Reverence Hotels, we know this and always like to advise our guests to make the most of their stay with us. Combining the peace and tranquility of our hotels, with their pools, spa, gastronomy, views... with activities in other parts of the island is undoubtedly an extraordinary plan. Both the adults-only hotel in Palmanova and the adults-only hotel in Santa Ponsa, have a privileged location, making it even easier and more convenient to carry out these plans. And if you're looking for a family vacation hotel in Mallorca, we have the Casa Vida Apartments in Santa Ponsa.
We look forward to seeing you!
