Art Palma Brunch and Art Palma Summer: discover Mallorca’s contemporary art scene

October 27 2026
Culture and Gastronomy
Mallorca is known for its landscapes, beaches and heritage, but it also has a vibrant art scene. Throughout the year, museums, foundations and exhibition spaces showcase work by local, national and international artists.
Much of this cultural offering is concentrated in Palma. Highlights include Art Palma Brunch and Art Palma Summer, two initiatives organised by Art Palma Contemporani that introduce the public to new creative work and invite visitors to explore venues across the city.

What are Art Palma Brunch and Art Palma Summer?
Art Palma Brunch is an open-gallery event usually held in spring. Participating galleries present their exhibitions, giving visitors the chance to put together their own itinerary through different areas of Palma.
Art Palma Summer marks the start of the summer art season with new exhibitions and activities. Its programme encompasses painting, sculpture, photography and installations, alongside other forms of contemporary artistic expression.
Dates, opening hours and participating venues change with each edition. Before attending, it is therefore worth checking the official programme and whether any activities require advance registration.

Palma, a city connected to contemporary art
One of the landmarks of Palma’s relationship with contemporary art is Nit de l’Art, an initiative launched in 1997 that transformed the collective opening of galleries into a citywide celebration.
Over time, it became one of Mallorca’s leading cultural events and helped inspire initiatives such as Art Palma Brunch and Art Palma Summer.
These events open the doors to galleries that visitors might otherwise overlook. Some occupy architecturally significant buildings, making the route a different way to discover Palma’s streets and urban heritage.

Museums and art centres to round off the experience
The day can be combined with a visit to some of Mallorca’s leading museums and centres devoted to modern and contemporary art.

Es Baluard Museu d’Art Contemporani de Palma
Es Baluard is housed within the city’s former defensive walls. Its collection and temporary exhibitions offer an insight into various artistic movements of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The building itself is part of the experience. Its spaces and terraces connect the artworks with the old city walls and Palma’s urban landscape.

Fundació Miró Mallorca
Fundació Miró Mallorca preserves the studios where Joan Miró worked for much of his life. A visit offers an insight into his creative process and the influence the island had on his work.
Alongside preserving the artist’s legacy, the foundation runs educational projects, research programmes and initiatives linked to contemporary creativity.

CCA Andratx
Outside Palma, CCA Andratx is another of the island’s leading art venues. Its programme combines exhibitions with an international residency scheme that brings together artists from different backgrounds.
Its location makes it an ideal stop on a route through south-west Mallorca, combining culture and scenery in a single day.

How to plan an Art Palma route
To make the most of the experience, check the map of participating venues beforehand and choose those that interest you most. There is no need to visit every gallery: a shorter route allows more time for each exhibition and a more relaxed experience.
It is also worth checking opening hours and admission conditions. Some activities may have limited capacity or require advance booking.
You can round off your visit with a walk through the old town, a meal in Palma or a visit to one of its museums. In this way, art becomes the thread that leads you to discover the city from a different perspective.

A cultural day out from Santa Ponça and Palmanova
From Santa Ponça and Palmanova, it is easy to plan a trip to Palma to coincide with either event.
Guests staying at Reverence Life Hotel or Apartamentos Casa Vida in Santa Ponça, or at Reverence Mare Hotel in Palmanova, can make this experience part of a holiday combining sea, heritage and culture.

Art Palma Brunch and Art Palma Summer offer an original way to discover Mallorca’s capital: stepping inside its galleries, encountering new artists and letting art guide you through the city.
