Top 3 Cycling Routes in Mallorca!

February 20 2023
Mallorca is a true paradise for cycling lovers. Many bike enthusiasts come to the island every year to enjoy their passion for this sport, knowing that Mallorca offers them everything they need to spend an unforgettable time.

Nearly 200,000 cycle tourists filled Mallorca's roads in 2022, a figure that is on the rise because of the island's orographic features, weather, safety standards and the professional development in expert service for cycling tourism.

Our hotels Reverence Life Palmanova and Reverence Mare Santa Ponsa are just a few kilometres away from the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2011 and the undisputed cycling hub of the island. Climbs of different difficulty, technical descents, rides through beautiful villages boasting a wide range of restaurants and bars where cyclists can regain their strength with carbohydrates and sweet treats, roads with stunning sea views, and much more.

This post includes useful information on three of the best cycling routes in Mallorca, because we know that bike lovers like to have everything perfectly planned before going on a trip.

The first route starts and finishes in Santa Ponsa and passes through the villages of Calviá, Puigpunyent, Galilea, Es Capdellà and Paguera. Just over 50 km long, this tour is of moderate technical difficulty and has a maximum elevation gain of 372 m. The circuit runs along secondary roads with very little traffic, beach and mountain scenery, and climbs to Galilea and Tords.

The second route from Palmanova to Sant Elm winds through Santa Ponsa, Camp de Mar, Paguera, Es Capdellà, Andratx and S'Arracó. This moderately difficult ride is 69.49 km longandrises to amaximum altitude of 236 m, offering several interesting spots along the way. Some of them include the Santa Ponsa mill, the Santa Catarina winery and Sant Elm, where you can enjoy breath-taking views of Sa Dragonera islet.

Starting in Santa Ponsa and finishing in Cala Fornells —via Paguera—,our third and last route suggestion is shorter (only 23 km) and offers a maximum elevation gain of 102 m. This route is perfect for days when you want to take an active break or simply feel like going on a quicker, less demanding ride.
